Apply, pick, book. Nothing more complicated.

MedSkift has exactly one way to book: verified health workers apply to a shift and the employer chooses who to book. Here is every step, for both sides.

From posting to a reviewed, completed shift

  1. 1. Set up your organization

    • Sign up, choose your type (hospital, clinic, pharmacy, care home, agency or individual) and add your first site.
    • Upload your business documents and complete the owner identity check. Families only need the identity check.
    • You can draft shifts straight away; they go live once you are verified.

  2. 2. Post a shift

    • Set the profession, title, date and hours, number of slots (up to 20), requirements and the rate per hour or per shift.
    • Post one shift, the same shift on many dates at once, or a weekly pattern that keeps the next four weeks posted.
    • Mark it urgent to alert verified workers of that profession in your town straight away.

  3. 3. Choose from verified applicants

    • Only verified health workers whose profession matches can apply, each with an optional note.
    • Open a profile to see verified badges, experience and reviews from other employers.
    • Message an applicant with questions. Phone numbers and emails are hidden until you book.

  4. 4. Book

    • Accept the applicant you want. US$3 comes off your credit, the booking is confirmed and both sides see each other’s contact details.
    • Short of credit? Top up and finish the same booking; you are never charged twice.
    • When every slot is filled, the remaining applicants are told the shift is taken.

  5. 5. After the shift

    • Reminders go out 24 hours and 2 hours before the start.
    • If nobody turns up, report a no-show within 24 hours of the start and the fee returns to your credit.
    • The booking completes automatically a day after the end. Then you each have 14 days to leave a review.

For health workers

From sign-up to your first paid shift

  1. 1. Create your profile

    • Sign up with your email (no password to remember) and choose your profession.
    • Add your council registration number, experience, skills, languages and the town you work in.

  2. 2. Get verified

    • Complete a short identity check with your ID and a live selfie, through our partner Didit.
    • Upload the documents your profession needs. Our team checks each one against the council register.
    • You can apply as soon as your identity and required documents are approved.

  3. 3. Find and apply

    • Browse open shifts for your profession, filtered by town, dates, minimum pay and urgency.
    • Get alerts when a matching shift is published nearby (never more than five a day).
    • Apply in one tap with an optional note. You can withdraw while the application is pending.

  4. 4. Get booked

    • You are notified the moment an employer picks you, with the address, directions and their contact details.
    • MedSkift stops you double-booking yourself on overlapping shifts.
    • If you cannot make it, cancel in the app as early as possible so the employer can replace you.

  5. 5. Work and get paid

    • Your employer pays you directly at the rate on the shift. MedSkift takes nothing from your pay.
    • After the shift you and the employer review each other, building your reputation.
