Credit terms

Effective 28 September 2026

In short: employers prepay credit and spend US$3 each time they book a health worker. Credit pays booking fees only and cannot be withdrawn as cash. If the worker cancels or does not show up, or you cancel at least 24 hours ahead, the fee comes back to your credit automatically.

1. What MedSkift credit is

MedSkift credit is a prepaid balance held in your organization’s wallet. Its only use is to pay MedSkift booking fees. It is shown in US dollars, belongs to the organization (not to an individual member), and is not a bank deposit, electronic money or a savings product, and it earns no interest.

Credit is non-withdrawable. It cannot be paid out, exchanged for cash, or transferred to another organization or person.

2. Buying credit

Owners and admins of an organization can top up its wallet. Choose a bundle (US$15, US$30, US$60, US$150) or any whole-dollar amount from US$3 to US$1,000. Payment is taken on Linkwa’s secure hosted checkout by EcoCash, InnBucks, OneMoney, Omari, SmileCash, Visa or Mastercard. MedSkift never sees your card number or mobile money PIN.

Credit is added once Linkwa confirms the payment as paid. If the confirmation is delayed, the top-up shows as pending and we keep checking with Linkwa; we never mark a delayed payment as failed. A top-up that is not paid within 24 hours expires and nothing is charged by us.

Every paid top-up gets a numbered receipt (for example MS-2026-000123) that you can view and print in the web app. It is also emailed to the person who paid.

3. Using credit

Posting shifts, receiving applications and messaging applicants cost nothing. When you accept an applicant, the booking fee of US$3 per booked shift is deducted from your credit and the booking is confirmed. Each slot booked is one fee.

If your balance is below the fee, the booking is not made and you are asked to top up. Retrying the same acceptance after topping up never charges you twice. Your wallet statement lists every fee against its shift and health worker.

4. When a fee comes back as credit

Refunds are always returned to your credit, automatically, and appear on your statement:

What happensBooking fee
The health worker cancels (any time before the start)Refunded as credit
The health worker does not turn up (reported within 24 hours of the start)Refunded as credit
You cancel at least 24 hours before the startRefunded as credit
You cancel less than 24 hours before the startKept
The shift goes ahead and is completedKept

A no-show must be reported in the app within 24 hours of the shift’s start. Our team can reverse a no-show report that turns out to be wrong. Where our team cancels a booking or resolves a dispute, they decide whether the fee is refunded or kept and record the reason. A booking fee can be refunded at most once.

5. Promotional credit and corrections

We may add promotional or goodwill credit to a wallet. It works like purchased credit and cannot be withdrawn. We may correct a balance that is wrong because of a technical error; every adjustment is recorded with a reason and shown on your statement.

6. Payment problems

If you paid but your credit did not arrive, or you think you were charged in error, email support@medskift.com with the payment reference from your Linkwa confirmation. We will check the payment with Linkwa and put things right.

7. Closing your organization

Because credit is non-withdrawable, any unused balance cannot be paid out when an organization is closed or suspended. If you plan to close your account, use up your credit first or contact us. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Zimbabwean consumer protection law.

8. Changes to these terms

If we change the booking fee or these terms, we will tell organizations by email and in the app before the change takes effect. Fees for bookings already made never change. These credit terms form part of our Terms of service.
